City to host fair housing meetings
Jefferson City staff will host two public meetings next week to discuss ways to improve fair housing.The city is working on its Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing document, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It includes recommended goals and strategies to further fair housing in Jefferson City.The meetings will be 4-6 p.m. Jan. 3 in City Hall, 320 E. McCarty St., and 4-6 p.m. Jan. 4 at Dorothy Pack Community Center, 1306 Edmonds St.Those interested can also take a survey online at surveymonkey.com/r/JCAFFH.
From the ballot box to the classroom, the dedicated workers, organizers, and leaders who forged this great organization and maintain its status as a champion of social justice, fought long and hard to ensure that the voices of African Americans would be heard. For nearly one hundred years, it has been the talent and tenacity of NAACP members that has saved lives and changed many negative aspects of American society.
